Mecha Mutt Menace' is well above average and is good solid entertainment, but of the six direct to video specials it is perhaps second weakest after 'Scooby Doo and the Beach Beastie' (oddly not listed here yet). Hence, I'd say it's a good one to enjoy.Īs a huge fan of Scooby Doo as a child and growing up (still am too), none of the six Scooby Doo direct-to-video specials are up there with the best of Scooby Doo but there is much to like about every single one of them. Overall is that this film is kind of short, so, I guess it's just a short film. I really want to know how they cope and do when they are sent to space. ![]() It's too bad that they didn't show it to the end. That being said, it's so funny to see their funny faces in this film. But when you finished a lot of Scooby-Doo films, you get tired of seeing Scooby and Shaggy are the ones who first encounter the problem and run. (Some of them, I don't quite understand unlike this one.) I like the fact that Scooby-Doo and Shaggy are always afraid of monsters. The reason and how it's become that way is very clear and so, I totally understand the film. It's totally unpredictable and when Velma explains the how question, well, for me, it's the best time of the whole film. Most of them, the one who is responsible for the troubles is unpredictable. As usual, Scooby-Doo films are so interesting and mysterious. I've written this review as much as I could. So, I kind of don't know how to write review on them. Albright was the original creator of the Mecha Mutt technology and she's bitter that the more famous Dr. Velma, Shaggy, and Scooby encounter a large mechanical dog on their way to Dr. He laments being too busy to date before the trio take leave. Irv claims to have no idea why the machine went crazy having done a diagnostic test on it just before the demonstration. Fred, Daphne, and Melanie talk to Lab Assistant Irv, who has a desk covered in food wrappers and sticky hands. The group splits up to talk to the other two people who worked on Mecha Mutt besides Melanie's father. A spirit attached itself to the ship when it landed on Earth and now anytime something goes wrong at NASA, they blame the supposed specter. Melanie explains to the gang that the Space Specter is an old legend about a ship that lost control while piloting through some space mist. Staples to face anxious reporters who blame the malfunction on the "Space Specter". Security goes after the robot leaving a perplexed Dr. Suddenly, Mecha Mutt goes rogue and starts firing lasers out at the audience. The gang checks out her father's demonstration where he unveils a large robotic dog, "Mecha Mutt", equipped to travel over Mars terrain. She catches Fred's eye (much to Daphne's dismay) and identifies herself as Melanie Staples, daughter of NASA Scientist Ned Staples. A girl accidentally gets caught in the trap but is quickly freed by Fred.
